Over the Falls

News You Can Use!

November 14th, 2015

Boy, we suck at keeping this website updated. Rest assured, we still exist. We've played some shows here and there, written some songs, reverted back to our original 4-piece line-up. We're actually working on a new EP!! Yay!!! Things are good! Stay tuned to our Facebook for more info: www.facebook.com/overthefallsrocks

We're finally playing shows again! After many babies born to various OTF-ians, we are ready to get super loud for adults again. (And kids too, why not?) Join us at 755 After-Dark in Sebastopol, formerly Aubergine, for a night of great tunes, and also our songs. We'll be reworking some of our old music that we haven't played in years, plus even some new stuff that we released last summer, because apparently we get all fidgety when a song remains the same for too long. Come check it out, it'll be great to see you again. Happy 420 indeed!

July 21, 2014

"... and we'd be happy" COMES OUT SATURDAY!!!
We just got the CDs in the mail; they look great, sound great, smell... well, they smell like CDs, we guess. But everything else is GREAT! We can't wait to get these out in the world. You'll be able to hear them here (juct click our music tab) in a few short days. Saturday night's release show at Jasper's in Sebastopol is going to rip!

July 16, 2014

Same night, same time, same bands (minus Care Eh Boo, sorry guys). Come out to Sebastopol and join us in the festivites, where we will certainly get to rock, because Jasper O'Farrell's certainly has a permit to allow such things. Oh, and this show is now FREE!!! Bonus!

July 2, 2014

The CD is getting printed, the release show is booked, the band is kicking, and I see lots of beers (... sorry, got carried away there.)
Join us at the Live Musician's Co-op in Santa Rosa, CA on July 26th for an epic night a revelry and rabble-rousing. We will be sharing the stage with old friends, Box Office Poison (who will be celebrating JD's birthday!), surf-rock monster-men The Illumignarly, local punk/ska band Care Eh Boo, and our dear old pal Gabe Katz's new drummin gig, Cash Pony (who were already damn good before they had Gabe, so they are probably pretty epic now).
Come on out and let's Party!!!

Ahhh, what a nice summer we're having. Hot, but nice. So nice, in fact, that we seem to have forgotten the whole "playing shows in dive-y bars" aspect of being in a raucous group such as ours, an aspect that tends to be expected of us. Well, aside from enjoying the oppressive sunshine and watching Tim's wee baby learn to walk, we have still, believe it or not, been working on the new album. Slow and steady wins this race, and our glacial pace provides a nice counterpoint to the occasionally despot-ish heat of August in Sonoma County. In addition to recording the new OTF songs at our guitarist Hamish's house, we have been working on an album for his band (Rectifier) AND an album of cover songs compiled by us and friends (The Brock Samsons). So, we will return to the stage eventually, as soon as this album enters it's mixing stage (and the outside cools the f**k down a bit). Stay tuned, stay frosty.

Good news, folks... OTF will be playing live again very soon! We are pleased to announce we will be returning to Lagunitas Brewing Co. to play a fundraiser for The National Stroke Foundation on March 19th. We will be joining our brothers The Business End on stage and helping out with the raffle of many great prizes, as well as the drinking of many great beers. Check out the SHOWS section for more info.

Good lord, it's been a whole year since we've updated the NEWS section here?!? We rely way to much on Facebook... Anyhoo, the news is that, well, there is not much news. We're taking a big winter break because our intrepid bassist, Timothy, just welcomed his first baby to this world, and they need some time to get acquainted. (We suppose that counts as news)

Meanwhile, the rest of us are working on recording new OTF songs, as well as some choice covers and an full album for our side project, RECTIFIER! (Well, we suppose that counts as news, too.) Rectifier is the handywork of one Hamish Simpson, who also happens to be our new, extra guitarist. (Now that is DEFINITELY news... who the heck manages this website?)

Stay tuned for new songs and shows. Meanwhile, check the fb: www.facebook.com/OverTheFallsRocks.
